NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Winter weather right around the corner potentially causing big problems for homeowners when hazardous ice dams form on the roof and in the gutter.
Ed Ingalls, owner of Newington Electric, and Antoinette Delfino stopped by our station to talk about the ct roof and gutter ice melt systems.
Ingalls says CT Roof and Gutter Ice Melt Systems is the first company in Connecticut to specialize in the installation of roof and gutter ice melt cables and has a showroom with product displays. Now if an ice dam forms on our home it can cause causes water to back up and go under the roof shingles allowing water to leak into the home. In some cases, entire ceilings walls and floors have to be replaced due to water damage.
Ingalls says the heat cables are specifically designed to be installed along the edge of roof line, as well as in the gutters and down spouts. Roof and gutter ice melt cables will keep the edge of your roof and down spouts free from snow and ice buildup, allowing melting snow and ice a clear path to escape.
